Account deletion policy
You are in full control of your data. Here is how to delete your account and all related information, clearly and transparently.

How to request account and data deletion
Option 1: In the app
- 1Open the See U app
- 2Profile menu (👤) → Settings (⚙️)
- 3Tap “Privacy”
- 4Select “Delete account”
- 5Confirm your identity (password / biometrics / 2FA)
- 6Complete the deletion request

Option 2: On the web
Web deletion link:

- 3.Enter the email used on your account
- 4.Confirm your identity
- 5.Submit the request
✅ Advantage: You do not need the app installed or to remember the app password
📌 Google Play note: this web link lets you start account deletion without reinstalling the app, in line with Google Play policies.

What is deleted
When we complete your deletion request, we delete (or irreversibly anonymize) the following data tied to your account:
Profile
- Full name
- Email / login
- Profile photo
- Language and preferences
- Date of birth
- Phone
Preferences and settings
- Accessibility settings
- TTS speed
- Notification preferences
- Themes and customization
- App language
Usage data
- Activity history
- Recorded voice commands
- Analysed images
- Browsing history
- Stories and posts
- Social interactions
Authentication
- Encrypted password
- Session tokens
- 2FA data
- Sign-in history
- Linked devices
Location data
- GPS history
- Saved routes
- Favourite places
- Event check-ins
- Geotagged stories
Generated content
- Conversations with Assistant Maria
- Community posts
- Comments and interactions
- Resumes and professional data
- Job applications
✅ Guarantee: this data is permanently deleted from our production systems or irreversibly anonymized, with no way to link it to you in the future.
What we may keep (only when strictly necessary)
In line with the LGPD (Brazil’s data protection law) and Google Play policies, we may keep minimal records in the following cases:
1. Legal obligations
Data required by Brazilian law may be kept for set periods:
- Tax invoices and tax data: 5 years (National Tax Code)
- Internet access logs: 6 months (Marco Civil da Internet)
- Financial and accounting records: 5 years (federal tax rules)
- Civil identification data: As required by applicable law
2. Security and fraud prevention
To protect our users and our systems:
- • Security logs for fraud or abuse investigations
- • Transaction records to resolve payment disputes
- • Minimal data to block fraudulent duplicate sign-ups
- • Anonymized data for security analysis and product improvements
3. Security backups
For data integrity and disaster recovery:
- • Backup copies may persist for up to 90 days
- • They are removed in the normal retention cycle
- • They are not actively used to provide the service
- • They exist only for technical contingency
4. Aggregated, anonymized data
Statistics with no link to a person’s identity:
- • Fully anonymized, aggregated data for general statistics
- • Re-identification of individuals is not possible
- • Used to improve the product and for research
- • Example: “X% of users set TTS to 1.5x speed”
📌 Important: these exceptions follow accepted Google Play practice and LGPD article 16 (legal obligation to retain some data). We are clear and transparent about what may be kept and why.
Deletion timelines
Acknowledgement
You will receive a confirmation email as soon as we receive your request.
Processing
Deletion is completed within 30 calendar days—often much sooner.
Backups
Backups are purged in the regular retention cycle within 90 days.
Typical timeline:
- Day 0: you request deletion → immediate confirmation email
- Days 1–7: production data is erased or anonymized
- Days 7–30: internal compliance and audit checks
- Day 30: deletion completed → final email
- Within 90 days: backups are removed in the cycle
Account reactivation
⚠️ Heads up: after deletion is finished, your account cannot be restored. The process is permanent and cannot be reversed.
📌 What that means
- ❌ You cannot recover your old profile
- ❌ Activity history is lost permanently
- ❌ Chats with Assistant Maria cannot be restored
- ❌ Stories, posts, and social interactions are removed
- ❌ You will need to set up preferences again on a new account
✅ You can create a new account at any time, but it will be separate from the old one, with no link to it.
